Born in Atlantis, South Africa, Duncan Matthews began his rugby journey representing the Boland Cavaliers at the U16 Grant Khomo Week, earning a spot in the Springboks U16 squad. Matthews played seven years with the Blue Bulls before joining the Lions for success at both levels.
