This past weekend, we were honored to sponsor the Women’s XV Foundation Brunch, a powerful gathering dedicated to celebrating the legacy and future of women’s rugby in the United States. Hosted in Washington, D.C., the event united current and former athletes, coaches, supporters, and partners to highlight the progress of the women’s game and rally support ahead of the 2025 Rugby World Cup.
For us at the Seattle Seawolves, supporting this brunch was about more than sponsorship. It was about standing alongside the athletes who inspire the next generation and investing in a vision where women’s rugby continues to grow nationwide.
The brunch paid tribute to trailblazers who have shaped women’s rugby in the U.S., from grassroots volunteers to international standouts. Guests heard stories of perseverance, sacrifice, and triumph from national team players who’ve paved the way for today’s athletes.
The event highlighted not just past accomplishments, but the resilience required to push the sport forward. Speakers reflected on how far women’s rugby has come, and how far there is still to go.
This brunch also served as a fundraiser, with proceeds directly benefiting USA Women’s XV athletes through the XV Foundation. Over $56,000 was raised in just two hours, a clear sign of the community’s commitment to ensuring players have the resources they need to succeed on the world stage.
With the 2025 Rugby World Cup approaching, this support will help close funding gaps and create opportunities for players to train and compete at the highest level.
Our role in professional rugby is deeply connected to the broader ecosystem of the sport. Many of our players, coaches, and staff have been inspired by the same values celebrated at this brunch: teamwork, resilience, and community. Supporting the XV Foundation aligns with our belief that rugby’s growth must include investment in women’s pathways at every level, from youth clubs to the national team.
The XV Foundation will continue this momentum with an intimate dinner in Los Angeles on August 14, 2025. It promises another opportunity to bring rugby supporters together, connect with USA Rugby players, and fuel the push toward the World Cup.
